Over the past 7 years, actors-writers Jeff Querin and Stephen Wayne have created close to 30 never-before-seen stories. Why not revisit the best of these and make them even better?!

You’ll see four amazing productions (each have had their own spinoff stories or sequels) over the course of the year. Starting with last year’s 4-month sellout…

Set on the sound stage of the fictitious 70’s show “All My Days”, this hilarious musical was affectionately dubbed a disco-infused soap opera. Tickets will sell out quickly for this limited engagement January through February.

This March through May experience an 80’s teen comedy about the adults with ADDICTED TO LOVE. Set in the faculty lounge of Arden High (note the forrest of Arden reference? Inspired by Shakespeare’s As You Like it). A bounty of epic tunes are peppered throughout this nostalgic hot tub time machine of a musical.

Its Friends meets Seinfeld. Enough said. Our 2018 hit sold out 3 months and returns this summer for what is sure to be,… well, a “must see!”

One of our most requested shows returns for a limited engagement in October. Not a musical (what?!), this innovative production parodies every famous Hitchcock moment in one extraordinary tale of intrigue and deception.

Owners Jeff and Steve bring the year to a close with a riotous trip to Moonshine County, where a few town outcasts help save Christmas… and each other. Tickets are expected to sell out long before the run begins.

Where Do You Come Up With These?!

Largo Cutting was created for a murder mystery in the basement of a hotel in Ohio’s Amish Country. Yes, you read that correctly.

The year was 2009 and 34 West was touring nationally to theaters, schools, festivals- whoever would commission Jeff and Steve to write and produce original work.

The aging soap star (on the poster) was so popular as a supporting role that he began reappearing in various stories until he was finally given his own headliner, STAYIN’ ALIVE, 2017. It sold out every performance for three months. In 2021, it sold out every performance for four months.

Now Largo and the gang will return for 5 more weeks in 2022.

Why? What is it about these 34 West characters that makes them so endearing? The characters always need flaws. They need hopes, fears, allies, enemies, victories, losses, then bigger victories. That’s a super-quick summary of The Hero’s Journey. (look it up, it’s fascinating).

Like your favorite TV characters or rom-com heroine, they’re underdogs. Jeff and Steve have spent 20 years developing their ability to create real, empathetic, comedic hero’s- and we are living for every moment of it!

Tony and Olivier Award Winner

We had only been open for six months when Tony Award-winning (and Olivier winning!) producer Greg Nobile attended a performance at 34 West.

He recently had this to say about his experience…

"“Visiting 34 West has long been, and remains, one of my most memorable and enjoyable theater experiences ever. I was visiting a high school friend in Charleston when we stumbled upon the storefront theater that shared a vestibule with , if I remember correctly, a Dunkin Donuts. I quickly began peering in the windows, intrigued by the nontraditional location and charming theater branding. Further intrigued, my friend and I returned later that night for a show. We were greeted by the proprietors, who were also the producers, and also the popcorn handlers, and then later the stars of that night’s performance. I was endlessly charmed by the delightful show and singular experience.”

“But more than anything, as a theater producers, I was blown away by the ingenuity of the concept and hustle of the owners. I was so impressed I reached out to meet the guys while on vacation and have been following the rising success of the theater ever since. I think of my first trip to that delicious storefront theater often, and I can’t wait to come back."

We’ve followed Greg’s success on Broadway and beyond ever since that very cold night in January of 2015. He continues to push the boundaries of theatre as it exists, for the betterment of all- and we are here for it!!

Update: 34 West Films

Many of you asked about our new Films division… its all true :)

Actors-writers-owners Jeff and Steve have been writing new stories for 21 years. Many of their sold out productions have had follow-up shows, similar to episodes of a sitcom or sequel to a movie.

There’s a whole roster of stories in the 34 West universe just waiting to be streamed (or projected!).

Over the next year, while they’re presenting shows in downtown Charleston (GROOVY is now playing and completely adorable!), they’ll also be building relationships in L.A where interest has already been expressed for their sci fi series LOVE POTION, based off the 2017 production, and ARDEN HIGH (from 2015’s ADDICTED TO LOVE).

34 West continues to be an incubator for new works and innovation at every turn. It’s very exciting to expand its reach to a whole new audience through film and television. We can’t wait to share more details with you in the months to come!

Next 3 Years!

Writers-actors-owners Jeff Querin and Stephen Wayne have renewed their lease for another 3 years of original stories (and champagne cocktails!) in downtown Charleston. Expect more heart-warming tales packed with charm, innovation, and slightly subversive humor!

34 West Films is also underway as the guys develop their creative works for film and television. We’ll keep you posted in the months to come. In the meantime, enjoy this 15 minute short made during the pandemic with a budget of about $50. Most of that $$ was used to purchase the quirky spaceship graphic at the end- hahaha.

We hope you’ll visit us in downtown Charleston soon. GROOVY KINDA LOVE is absolutely and adorably satisfying. Like all their stories, it’ll inspire, it’ll make you happy, and it’ll make you want to see every show for the next 3 years!
